At the event, participants highly appreciated the strong growth of the local private sector. By the end of Q1/2026, Son La had 4,891 enterprises with total registered capital exceeding 146 trillion VND (5.55 billion USD), along with 1,146 cooperatives. The sector currently contributes around 55% of the province’s GRDP, 60% of budget revenue, and provides jobs for about 110,000 workers.

Notably, the province’s investment and business environment has made substantial progress. Son La’s 2025 Public Administration Reform Index (PAR Index) reached 90.02%, placing it among the country’s leading localities.

Investor confidence has also strengthened significantly, with the share of investment capital from the non-state sector rising to more than 70% in recent years.

At the workshop, delegates presented a range of papers focusing on improving the investment and business climate; promoting private enterprises’ participation in value chains; digital transformation and innovation; developing high-quality human resources; and advancing private-sector growth in ecological agriculture, circular economy models, and e-commerce.

Many participants said that for the private sector to truly become a key growth driver for the province, Son La should continue accelerating substantive administrative reforms, improve governance quality at all levels, and create more favourable conditions for businesses to access land, credit, and development resources.

At the same time, the province should prioritise investment in transport, logistics, and digital infrastructure, while supporting enterprises in technology upgrades, digital transformation, and green economy and circular economy models.

Delegates also proposed special mechanisms and policies for mountainous provinces to help businesses expand production, access broader markets, and participate more deeply in domestic and international value and supply chains.

In addition, stronger linkages are needed among enterprises, cooperatives, and farmers, alongside the development of leading enterprises in high-tech agriculture, agricultural processing, and eco-tourism.
