The movement "Moc Chau joins hands to build new-style rural areas" launched by the district has received attention and positive response from people from all walks of life in the district, promoting important internal resources in building rural infrastructure in the locality. Since 2020, Moc Chau has invested in building 268 roads with a combined length of nearly 68 km at a total investment of over 91 billion VND ($3.73 million). Of the sum, 28.4 billion VND came from the State budget and over 63 billion VND from locals. Notably, residents donated over 13,580sq.m of land to build rural roads.

Now, the district has 309 km of rural roads, of which 202.6 km have been cemented, reaching 65.5%. Five out of 13 communes have 100% of concrete roads to hamlets and hamlet centres. Seven communes have met criterion No.2 on transport in new-style rural construction. Local people have invested in upgrading 188 km of alley lighting systems in hamlets and sub-areas in 13 communes, contributing to ensuring security and order, and promoting economic and social development in rural areas.

In addition, Moc Chau has promoted production development associated with agricultural restructuring, rural economic restructuring, and increasing people's income. It currently has 293 facilities applying water-saving irrigation systems for more than 481 hectares of crops; and 36 establishments investing in building greenhouses and net houses on an area of nearly 46 hectares. There are 29 growing areas with codes and 24 establishments applying VietGAP standard in cultivation on a total area of nearly 383 hectares. As many as 1,673 organizations and individuals apply organic farming on more than 2,300 hectares, along with three organic livestock models.

The district has more than 100 cooperatives operating in the field of agriculture and agricultural services with a total charter capital of over 169 billion VND ($6.93 million) and 1,045 members, creating regular jobs for 1,224 workers and over 1,500 seasonal workers. It has 30 OCOP products that have been ranked, including eight four-star and 22 three-star products at the provincial level.

Moc Chau has eight communes recognized as meeting new-style rural standards, two communes meeting advanced new-style rural standards, 10 hamlets satisfying new-style rural standards, and two hamlets meeting model new-style rural standards.

In its next step, the district will continue to mobilise investment resources to build infrastructure projects at the grassroots level, deploy solutions to reduce the rate of poor households, and improve income and life of local people, thus building new-style rural areas into truly worth living places.
