More than 81,000 fingerlings released into Da River reservoir

More than 81,000 fingerlings, including carp and catfish, were released into the Da River reservoir. The annual programme aims to replenish native aquatic species, particularly those of high economic value.

Alongside the release, local authorities have stepped up public awareness campaigns to promote community responsibility in protecting aquatic ecosystems, discouraging destructive fishing practices such as the use of explosives, electric shocks, or toxic chemicals. These efforts are expected to help restore and diversify aquatic resources in Son La’s natural water bodies, ensuring sustainable livelihoods and improving local living standards.
