Son La announces results of OCOP product evaluation, classification

Vice Chairman of the Son La provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong, who is also Chairman of the provincial OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council, chaired a conference on January 22 to announce the results of the second round of OCOP (One Commune One Product) product evaluation and classification in the province for 2025.

The council evaluated a total of 47 products, including 31 newly submitted products and 16 products undergoing re-evaluation from 30 entities across 21 communes and wards. These comprised one tourism product and 46 agricultural, forestry and aquatic products.

As a result, 24 products were rated as 4-star OCOP products and 22 products as 3-star ones, all of which were granted certificates by the provincial People’s Committee. One product - soft-dried plum produced by the 19/5 Agricultural Development Service Cooperative - met the criteria for submission to the central level for consideration and evaluation as a 5-star OCOP product.

In his remarks, Cong acknowledged and commended the entities participating in the OCOP programme for their significant investments in upgrading and improving product quality, packaging, production processes, and traceability, with the aim of achieving higher ratings.

These efforts, he noted, have helped enhance product value and contributed significantly to strengthening the value and standing of Son La’s agricultural products.

He expressed his hope that in the coming period, OCOP entities will continue to make greater efforts to maintain and further enhance the value of recognised OCOP products, expand domestic and international markets, and contribute to job creation for local workers.
