Attending the ceremony were leaders of several provincial departments and agencies, representatives of Vietnam Airlines, WinCommerce, Saigon Co.op and GO!, along with businesses, cooperatives and a large number of plum growers from across the province.
Son La province currently has around 14,550 hectares of plum cultivation, with an estimated output of about 100,000 tonnes. By early May 2026, about 35,000 tonnes of plums and apricots had been sold, generating an estimated value of 525 billion VND (19.92 million USD).
Under the plan, Son La will coordinate in selecting and supplying one tonne of premium-quality plums served on domestic and international flights operated by Vietnam Airlines. The products are carefully selected, processed and ensured to meet food safety standards before being served to passengers.
At the same time, Son La plums will be widely distributed through the nationwide retail networks of WinCommerce, Saigon Co.op and GO!.
Saigon Co.op and GO! are expected to distribute more than 300 tonnes of Son La plums harvested from raw material areas in Phieng Khoai and Moc Chau at more than 800 retail outlets nationwide.
A representative of Vietnam Airlines speaks at the ceremony.
Immediately after the signing ceremony, trucks carrying “Son La plums” departed to serve passengers on Vietnam Airlines flights and to be widely distributed across retail systems nationwide, including WinCommerce, Saigon Co.op, and GO!.
