Van Ho cultivates 557 hectares of vegetables

Since the beginning of this year, farmers in Van Ho commune have planted 557 hectares of various vegetables, mainly Chinese cabbage, kohlrabi, cauliflower, chayote, and tomatoes, with a total yield of 6,684 tonnes.

A farmer in Hang Trung 1 hamlet, Van Ho commune, takes care of the winter vegetables.

Among this area, there are 25,600 square metres of net houses and greenhouses; nearly 13 hectares of off-season vegetables produced under the VietGAP standards; and over 80 hectares of vegetable fields using automated irrigation systems.

The income value per hectare of land reaches 60 million VND (2,274 USD). Currently, farmers continue to expand vegetable production following safe farming practices, applying science-technology and new crop varieties to intensive cultivation, thereby increasing the value of their crops.
