The competition saw the participation of 147 chess players, representing 12 delegations from the education-training divisions of Son La city and districts, 14 high schools, and boarding secondary and high schools for ethnic minorities in the locality.
The students were divided into primary, secondary and high school sectors, and in the age groups of 7-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16, and 17-18.
They competed in a knockout format, with winners continuing to enter the final.
After six days of competition, the organising committee presented 12 gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze medals to outstanding players. The competition was held successfully with attractive, high-quality matches, the committee said.
