Athletes compete in the men's and women's events, following two age groups:  from 12 to 17 years old and  over 18 years old, and with three distances of 5km, 10 km and 21 km for both men and women around Tay Bac (Northwest) Square.

At the end of the tournament, the organising board presented six gold, six silver and six bronze medals, and 42 consolation prizes in the competition events; honoured the oldest male and female runners; and awarded the Vietcombank Cup and certificates of merit from the provincial Youth Union to six gold medalists.
