Sơn La wins five golds at national family badminton, table tennis tournament

Son La province secured five gold medals at the 2023 national family badminton and table tennis tournament, which was held in Da Lat city, the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, on August 5-10.

The tournament was co-organised by the Lam Dong province Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Sport Authority of Vietnam under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

This year’s tournament attracted more than 500 athletes from 34 cities, provinces and clubs nationwide, competing in a round-robin format.

Son La province sent eight athletes from three families to the competition, including all the four members of a family. They competed in father-daughter, mother-daughter, father-son, and husband-wife categories.

A husband-wife of Son La province is honoured at the tournament.

The tournament was in response to the 2021-2030 campaign “All people do exercises following the great example of Uncle Ho”. It also formed part of activities celebrating the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2)./.
