Yen Chau district’s running tournament 2024 opens

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 -2024) and 65th years since President Ho Chi Minh and a central-level delegation visited and talked with residents in Yen Chau district (May 8, 1959-2024), the district People's Committee on May 4 organised an open running tournament.

The tournament attracted more than 800 runners who are officials and public servants at bureaus in the district and its towns and communes, along with armed forces, students and people in and outside the locality.

They competed in the men's and women's events, with the two distances of 7km and 10km. 

 Runners begin the 7km race. 

For the 7,000 distance, the athletes ran from the intersection of the district Social Security Agency, through the Vat stream embankment and Me hamlet in Chieng Khoi commune, and ended at the Chieng Khoi - Phieng Khoai road. 

The 10km distance started from the relic site where Uncle Ho talked with residents in Yen Chau district in Residential Area No. 5, Yen Chau town, through the district Social Security Agency intersection and Kho Vang hamlet bridge in Vieng Lan commune, the Vat stream embankment and Me hamlet in Chieng Khoi commune, to the Chieng Khoi - Phieng Khoai road.

At the end, organisers awarded first, second, and third prizes to the winners.

 The first, second, and third prizes are presented to female athletes in the 7km distance.
