Sap Vat commune has 11 hamlets with 1,064 households, and 95% of the population belong to Thai and Mong ethnic groups. In recent years, the “All people join hands in safeguarding national security” movement in the commune has been promoted, attracting the participation of a large number of local people.
The whole commune has maintained the operation of 89 self-managed inter-family groups, 11 people's security groups, and 11 mediation ones; and perfected 11 grassroots-level security and order teams. Since the beginning of this year, the communal police have coordinated with relevant units to organise 11 dissemination sessions at the grassroots level, with over 1,000 participants, and seized two homemade guns.
Speaking at the festival, Anh requested Yen Chau district and Sap Vat commune to continue to direct the effective implementation of the movement, step up disseminations to raise the public’s vigilance and activeness in preventing, denouncing, and fighting against crimes and law violations. The police force was required to regularly take actions to suppress all types of crimes, thoroughly and drastically handle cases related to security and order, prevent hot spots from emerging, and ensure people’s trust in crime prevention and control.
On this occasion, the provincial Department of Public Security and the district People's Committee presented the certificates of merit to eight collectives and 14 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the movement.
