“All people join hands in safeguarding national security” festival held in Muong La

The People's Committee of Muong La district on August 12 opened the “All people join hands in safeguarding national security” festival 2024 in Pi Toong commune. Attending the event was comrade Le Hong Long, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and head of the provincial Party Committee's Organisation Board.

 

Muong La district’s “All people join hands in safeguarding national security” festival 2024 is held in Pi Toong commune.

 

The “All people join hands in safeguarding national security” movement has been widely implemented in Muong La district in recent years with diverse contents and forms, in association with campaigns such as "All people participate in detecting and denouncing crimes", "Persuading criminals to surrender", "Encouraging people to detect and collect weapons, explosives, and support tools", and "All people unite to build new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas".

Up to now, the whole district has maintained and promoted the effectiveness of 1,367 self-managed inter-family groups with 22,221 members; 211 people's security teams with 1,005 members; 197 mediation teams with 1,061 members; and 199 firefighting teams with 2,961 members.

In the first six months of 2024, the forces detected and handled 10 violations of social order and safety; 22 violations of regulations on public order economic management; and 20 environmental law violations. Security and order were ensured, creating a favourable environment to promote local socio-economic development.

Speaking at the festival, Long asked Muong La district to continue to promote the movement; strengthen the dissemination of the plots, methods and tricks of hostile forces and criminals; and raise awareness and vigilance of each citizen.

The district should build a strong public security force at the district and commune levels as well as security and order protection teams at the grassroots level; organize campaigns to suppress all types of crimes, and quickly, and decisively and thoroughly handle incidents related to security and order, avoiding the emergence of "hot spots", he said.

A representative of the Muong La public security agency presents certificates of merit from the Director of the provincial Department of Public Security to individuals with outstanding achievements.

On this occasion, the Director of the provincial Department of Public Security and the Muong La district People's Committee gave the certificates of merit to six collectives and 31 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the movement.
