The provincial chairman and the working delegation listened to the border guard stations’ reports on the protection of border lines and markers; coordination in the fight against drug trafficking and other crimes in border areas; plans to organise Tet celebrations for officers and soldiers on duty before, during and after the Lunar New Year holiday. They heard information on the socio-economic development situation in 2023, key tasks for 2024, and activities to welcome the new spring and new year for people in the border communes.
Khanh praised and acknowledged the efforts made by the border guard stations and border communes in recent times. He asked local party committees and authorities to continue to lead and encourage people to focus on economic development, hunger eradication and sustainable poverty reduction.
Attention must be paid to supporting and caring for people so that they can enjoy a happy spring and Tet; and organising safe and joyful New Year activities, he noted.
As the new situation requires increasingly comprehensive border guard tasks, the Chairman of the provincial People's Committee said each officer and soldier in the border guard stations must be proactive to firmly grasp the internal and external situation and fulfill their role as a specialised force in managing and firmly protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security.
