The new rice celebration in Quang Huy commune has been passed down from generation to generation to affirm the traditional cultural beauty, customs, beliefs and spirituality of the local ethnic people.

Former provincial leaders and the Standing Board of the Phu Yen district Party Committee join the new rice celebration.

This year's event featured a new rice offering ritual at Chu communal house in Chieng Ha hamlet, folk games, and a photo exhibition showcasing rice products entitled "Muong Tac - Fragrant sticky rice season".

The ritual is performed by a shaman to express gratitude to the ancestors, heaven and earth, and pray for good weather, bumper harvests, and a prosperous life. After the ceremony at the ancestral temple, households conduct their own new rice offering ceremonies at home. Depending on each family's conditions, they invite guests to join the event.
