Outstanding trade union officials, members honoured

The Son La provincial Confederation of Labour held a meeting on August 8 to celebrate the 95th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - 2024) and commend outstanding trade union officials and members in 2024.

At the meeting, delegates reviewed the formation and development process of the Vietnam Trade Union and its Son La chapter. Established in 1963, after more than 60 years of construction and development, the provincial Trade Union has gradually grown and made important contributions to the development of the province.

Currently, it has over 50,000 union members and 1,260 grassroots trade unions. Trade unions in the province have actively innovated their operation contents and methods and achieved many positive results, well performing their role of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of members and workers.

A leader of the provincial Confederation of Labour grants the insignia for the cause of building the trade union to trade union officials and members.

 

The "Excellent workers, creative workers" emulation movement have been maintained, with up to 3,000-4,000 useful projects, initiatives and solutions accepted and applied in practice. Every year, 5,000-7,000 trade union members and employees living in difficult circumstances, suffering from serious illnesses, or without housing receive support from the unions.

The Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee presents certificates of merit to outstanding trade union officials and members, and workers.

On this occasion, the leader of the provincial Confederation of Labour presented the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour’s insignia for the cause of building the trade union to 37 officials and members who have made great contributions to the union development. The provincial Confederation of Labour also commended 95 outstanding trade union officials and members, and workers in 2024.
