Provincial Chairman holds dialogue with women’s union officials, members in 2023

Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Hoang Quoc Khanh on October 8 chaired a hybrid dialogue with women’s union officials and members, and women in the province in 2023.

Son La province has the provincial Women's Union, 12 women's unions of districts and Son La city, three affiliated units, 204 women's unions of communes, wards and townships; 2,303 women’s union branches, with a total of over 232,600 members. Over the past time, the women's unions at all levels have closely followed the political tasks of localities and units, directing the effective implementation of their working programme’s targets and the women's movements. The emulation movements, campaigns, breakthroughs and key tasks have been carried out with rich and diverse content and forms, attracting a large number of union officials and members as well as women.

At the event, in the spirit of democracy, straightforwardness, devotion, and responsibility, participants proposed a number of issues related to the Party guidelines and the State’s policies and laws, local regulations; and political, economic and social events of the province regarding women's work and gender equality.

They also suggested improving the living standards, providing employment and vocational training, and ensuring health care and education for union members and women...

Their petitions and recommendations were fully and satisfactorily responded by the leaders of the province, departments and agencies.

The dialogue also analyzed and clarified the current situation and issues that are of concern to women in the province, as well as the implementation of women's work and gender equality in recent times, promptly removing difficulties and further promoting the role, position and potential of women in the coming time.
