Hong Ngai commune has six hamlets, with 832 households and over 4,000 people. Over 80% of the population are Mong ethnic people. In recent years, the “All people join hands in safeguarding national security” movement in the commune has been implemented effectively, mobilizing residents’ engagement in implementing self-management, self-defense, self-protection, and self-reconciliation models; and persuading people from all walks of life to comply with the Party's guidelines and the State’s policies and laws.
Speaking at the festival, Cha A Cua, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Council, requested the Party Committee and authorities of Bac Yen district to focus on building the Party, the administration, a strong people's public security force and forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level.
The district’s departments, agencies and organisations need to closely coordinate with the public security force to strictly implement joint resolutions on prevention of crimes and social evils; innovate the content, forms, and measures to build the “All people join hands in safeguarding national security” movement to ensure practicality and meet local realities.
On the same day, Song Ma district organised a similar festival in Chieng Khoong commune.
Recently, the “All people join hands in safeguarding national security” movement has actively contributed to maintaining political security, social order and safety in the district. Since the beginning of this year, the district's specialized agencies have organised 69 communication campaigns for over 8,300 people; consolidated and promoted the operational effectiveness of 2,050 self-managed inter-family groups, 317 people's security groups, 317 firefighting teams, 317 reconciliation groups; and maintained 14 communes that meet standards for security, social order and safety.
Speaking at the festival, Trang Thi Xuan, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee, directed Song Ma district to continue taking care of people's lives; and encourage residents to well manage and educate youngsters so that they do not break laws, continue upholding civic responsibility and obligations, proactively prevent, detect, denounce, and fight crimes, and actively participate in the “All people join hands in safeguarding national security” movement.
During the festival, cultural activities and folk games such as tug of war and crossbow shooting were held, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere.
On August 8, Son La city organised the “All people join hands in safeguarding national security” festival 2024 in Chieng Ngan commune. Attending the event were Trang Thi Xuan, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee, and head of the provincial Steering Committee for preventing and fighting crimes and social evils, and building the “All people join hands in safeguarding national security” movement.
In recent years, the movement has been widely deployed in the city, creating a spillover effect and attracting a large number of participants. To date, the city has established 55 people's security groups, 139 grassroots security and order protection groups, 139 reconciliation groups, and 1,260 self-managed inter-family groups. It has maintained and replicated models such as “Zalo - security camera”, “Worker group for green environment, self-management of security and order" and "Model market for fire prevention and rescue safety"; 35 fire safety residential clusters; seven inter-family fire safety groups; 44 public firefighting water storage points.
Speaking at the festival, Xuan asked the city Party Committee and People's Committee to actively participate in building the Party, the administration, a truly strong people's public security force, and forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level.
The public security force must regularly deploy personnel to suppress all types of crimes; quickly, decisively and thoroughly handle incidents related to security and order, avoiding the emergence of "hot spots", she said.
Agencies and organizations at all levels should continue to coordinate closely with the public security force to strictly implement joint resolutions on preventing and combating crime and social evils, especially in building the “All people join hands in safeguarding national security” movement, she added.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Public Security decided to recognize the public security forces of To Hieu and Quyet Thang wards as the “Model ward public security force”.
At the festival, cultural activities and soccer and volleyball competitions also took place, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere.
