Provincial VFF Committee launches fundraising campaign to ease damage caused by natural disasters

The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Son La province on August 2 launched a fundraising campaign to help fix consequences of natural disasters in the province.

At the ceremony to launch the fundraising campaign to ease damage caused by natural disasters.

In the recent time, Son La province has experienced continuous heavy rains, causing flash floods, landslides and widespread flooding, especially in Mai Son and Thuan Chau districts and Son La city. The floods have isolated many residential areas, leaving 11 dead and missing, injuring many others, and destroying people's houses, public works and crops.

In order to promptly share the difficulties and losses of people in disaster-hit areas, the provincial VFF Committee called on agencies, units, organisations, businesses and people inside and outside the province to join hands in supporting them, contributing to rapidly restoring production and stabilising local life.

Standing members of the provincial Party Committee make donations at the launching ceremony.

The campaign lasts for 90 days, starting from the date of launching. The distribution time is implemented immediately during the mobilisation and donation period and ends after 20 days from the date of completing mobilisation and receipt of donations.

Donations can be transferred to the bank account of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at the State Treasury of Son La province. For donated goods, the Standing Board of the committee coordinates with the provincial Relief Mobilisation Committee and relevant agencies to promptly distribute them to affected households in an open and transparent manner.
