Quynh Nhai holds “All people join hands in safeguarding national security” festival

Quynh Nhai district on August 12 organised the “All people join hands in safeguarding national security” festival in Muong Giang commune. Attending the event was Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee.

The “All people join hands in safeguarding national security” movement has been widely implemented in the district in recent years, creating a spillover effect and drawing a large number of local people, thus contributing to maintaining local political security.

Since the beginning of this year, the district has launched 103 security and order safeguarding teams with 309 members; maintained the operation of 877 self-managed inter-family groups with more than 14,300 members; established and maintained the replication of security and order models. Local people have provided valuable information, helping the police force investigate, clarify and handle 76 cases, and punish 86 violators.

Speaking at the festival, Hung asked the Party Committee and authorities of Quynh Nhai district to continue to leading and directing the effective implementation of the “All people join hands in safeguarding national security” movement in conjunction with patriotic emulation movements.

The district needs to innovate the content, forms, and methods of dissemination, arousing patriotism, national pride and respect for the rule of law among residents; while encouraging them to raise vigilance, responsibility, and capacity to protect security and order, he said.

The local authorities must listen to people's opinions to promptly meet their legitimate thoughts and aspirations; and regularly care for their lives, both materially and spiritually, he added.

“It is necessary to actively build the Party, administration the people's public security force, and other forces engaging in protecting security and order at the grassroots level in order to meet the requirements in the new situation,” he noted.

On this occasion, the provincial Department of Public Security, the Standing Board of the district Party Committee, and the district People's Committee presented the certificates of merit to eight collectives and 14 individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement as well as in building, consolidating and replicating self-managed security models in the locality.

At the festival, cultural exchange activities and ethic sports competitions also took place, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere.
