At the meeting.

The meeting was attended by Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; and Trang Thi Xuan, member of the Standing Board of the Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee; among other officials.

Delegates attend the meeting.

In 2024, under housing programmes and initiatives, the province supported 1,156 households classified as poor or near-poor, with total funding of over 50 billion VND (1.96 million USD). Of this amount, 15.3 billion VND came from the State budget, while more than 35.6 billion VND from social contributions. Between 2020 and 2025, the province has cumulatively supported 8,878 households with funding exceeding 418 billion VND.

Trang Thi Xuan, member of the Standing Board of the Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee, presents a report on the results of the 2024 programme on  eliminating temporary and dilapidated housing.

According to a report presented at the meeting, approximately 3,259 households across the province still need housing assistance in 2025, including 255 of revolution contributors, 113 of  ethnic minorities and poor or near-poor Kinh residents in extremely disadvantaged areas, 378 of those classified as poor or near-poor in Thuan Chau and Sop Cop districts, and 2,513 others in need.

The estimated total funding required to address temporary and dilapidated housing in 2025 is over 197 billion VND, which will come from various sources, including central ones, and support from Dong Nai province, Viettel Group, the National Assembly’s Economic Committee, and different economic sectors.

Speaking at the meeting, Khanh asked all-level Party committees and organisations, authorities, Vietnam Fatherland Front committees, and socio-economic organisations to instruct the implementation of the Prime Minister’s relevant directives.

The People’s Committee was urged to work harder to remove obstacles to the work, speed up disbursement, ensure resources balance, and mobilise more resources for the effort.

The leader also highlighted stepping up inspections and supervisions over the performance of localities, saying districts and Son La city need to complete housing surveys and mobilise all available resources to eliminate temporary housing.

A short-term goal was set to support the construction or repair of at least 20 homes per district by the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.
