Son La responds to “Clean up the World” Campaign 2023

Son La province’s Department of Natural Resources and Environment, in collaboration with the People's Committee of Quynh Nhai district, on September 23 organised a ceremony to respond to the “Clean up the World” Campaign 2023, themed “Acting together to change the world”.

Over the past years, Son La has always identified environmental protection and climate change response as one of the three pillars in the development process, a key immediate and long-term task of authorities at all-levels, sectors, organisations, agencies, units, businesses, each family and each person, with an aim to create specific and practical action movements that make strong changes in awareness, responsibility and action of each organisation and individual, contributing to ensuring sustainable development.

The province has also promoted the application of technology and management solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and encourage and promote the transfer of green and environmentally friendly technology, as well as the efficient use of energy in the fields of industry, construction, transportation towards building a green economy and a circular economy, and minimise emissions.

Leaders of the provincial People's Committee and representatives of some provincial departments and agencies present environmentally friendly trash cans and cloth bags to Quynh Nhai district.

At the event, the provincial People's Committee presented 25 3-compartment trash cans to classify waste at source and 500 environmentally friendly cloth bags to the Quynh Nhai People's Committee and the People's Committees of communes and organisations in the district.

After the ceremony, delegates planted trees, cleaned streets, cleared grass, collected garbage, and took out leaflets of classified ads on streets in the communes./.
