At the event, the association’s leader recalled the 16-year tradition of the Vietnam Education Promotion Day. With the theme “Developing a reading culture to promote lifelong learning”, the Week of Lifelong Learning is being held from October 1-7, aiming to enhance the responsibility, attention and active participation of authorities at all levels, sectors, organisations and unions in developing a reading culture and promoting lifelong learning.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Dang Ngoc Hau called on the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, socio-political organisations, unions, departments, sectors, organisations and individuals in the province to respond to the activities of promoting learning and talents, and developing a reading culture, thus contributing to the rapid, green and sustainable development of Son La.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, the association awarded prizes to the winners of the the 4th provincial “Excellent Education Promotion Officials” Competition.
