The contest featured 18 contestants representing nine teams from communes and town in the district. Pairs of contestants, representing their respective ethnic groups, participated in two rounds. The first showcased traditional ethnic costumes, and the second featured modernized or enhanced versions of these costumes. Each pair presented their outfits to suitable music, accompanied by a brief and concise introduction. The performance time for each round ranged from 3 to 5 minutes.

The judging panel scored the contestants based on the following criteria. The teams must ensure the authenticity of traditional costumes while modernized costumes must be aesthetically pleasing, artistically designed, and logically improved while still honouring the traditional beauty and retaining the original value. The introduction must explain the functionality and significance of each ethnic group’s costume. The performance must create a cultural impact.
