Training course on preservation of Dao ethnic group’s traditional festivals

Moc Chau district held a training course on November 23-25 on methods and skills for preserving the traditional festivals of the Dao ethnic group, with a focus on tapping these festivals for tourism development.

The event was attended by 90 participants, including hamlet leaders, clan heads, and Dao artisans from 13 hamlets across six communes and towns in Moc Chau district. Trainers from the Hanoi University of Culture and the Moc Chau district Political Center gave an overview of festivals; traditional festivals of ethnic minority regions; preserving traditional festivals and cultural values to create products for tourism development in Moc Chau; the process of organizing festivals; and skills for organizing festivals.

The training course aimed to foster a significant shift in the awareness and mindset regarding the protection and promotion of the traditional cultural values of the Dao ethnic people. It sought to inspire pride and solidarity within the community, preserve cultural heritage, and protect and promote intangible cultural values. The event also aimed to develop products that contribute to the growth of tourism in Moc Chau.
