1,202 high school and 811 secondary school students win prizes at provincial exams for excellent students

The Son La provincial Department of Education and Training on March 19 announced the results of the provincial exams to select excellent students at secondary and high school levels for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Accordingly, at the secondary school level, there were 1,769 candidates taking the exam, of which 811 candidates won prizes in the subjects of Geography, History, Literature, Biology, Maths, English and Physics, including 32 first, 120 second, 178 third and 481 consolation prizes. The units with many prize winners are Son La city (196), Mai Son district (145), Moc Chau district (115), and Phu Yen district (73).

There were 2,101 candidates taking the exam to select excellent high school students in such subjects as Civic Education, Literature, History, Geography, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Maths, Informatics, and English. As a result, 1,202 contestants won prizes, including 64 first, 220 second, 319 third, and 599 consolation ones. Among the prize winners this year, there were 36 given special consideration because they achieved high results at the national exam to select excellent high school students for the 2023-2024 academic year, or had an international-standard foreign language certificate. 

According to the assessment of the Department of Education and Training, the exams took place safely and seriously in accordance with regulations, reflecting the teaching and learning quality of local schools.
