500 gifts presented to typhoon-hit residents in Moc Chau

The Red Cross Society of Son La province on October 11 collaborated with the Red Cross Society of Dong Nai province and various philanthropists to deliver 500 gift packages to residents affected by Typhoon Yagi in Moc Chau district.

The beneficiaries come from Chieng Son, Long Sap, Hua Pang, Na Muong, Ta Lai, and Quy Huong communes.

According to statistics, the typhoon impacted 517 households, with nine with houses completely collapsed and 25 others needing urgent evacuation. Nearly 500 hectares of agricultural crops were damaged, and several roads experienced landslides. The total estimated damage is around 20 billion VND (805,800 USD).

The delegation provided 500 essential goods gifts valued at over 300 million VND, along with 20 cash gifts totaling 200 million VND for 20 households with severely damaged homes, to encourage them to overcome the difficulties following the disaster.
