60th founding anniversary of Nghia Hung hamlet celebrated

A ceremony was held on November 3 to mark the 60th founding anniversary of Nghia Hung hamlet, Muong Coi commune, Phu Yen district (1964-2024).

Nghia Hung lies at the foot of the legendary Lung Lo Pass. In 1964, responding to the Party’s call, 24 young men and women who were outstanding Party members and youth union members from Lien Nghia commune, Van Giang district, Hung Yen province, volunteered to come to Son La province to build a new economic region. They established Nghia Hung Cooperative, now Nghia Hung hamlet, Muong Coi commune, Phu Yen district, Son La province.

The Standing Board of the Muong Coi commune Party Committee presents a bouquet to congratulate the hamlet.

Over the past 60 years of construction and development, the people of Nghia Hung have united to overcome difficulties and challenges, achieving many accomplishments and building a prosperous hamlet. Now the hamlet has 120 households with 468 people, and seven self-managed groups. Its Party cell consists of 11 members.

Nghia Hung has become a shining example of economic development linked with new-style rural area building, with 60 hectares of corn, 50 hectares of citrus trees, and over 1,900 livestock. It is also responsible for protecting over 150 hectares of forest. A cooperative was established in the hamlet with 11 members, cultivating 28 hectares of fruit trees. Its sweet tangerine has been recognised as a 3-star provincial OCOP (One Commune One Product) item.

The living standards of the villagers have improved, with an average income per capita exceeding 42 million VND (1,660 USD), and no poor households. Over 60% of families are considered fairly well-off or wealthy. On April 5, 2023, Nghia Hung was recognized as the first model new-style rural hamlet in Phu Yen district.

Leaders of Muong Coi commune present gifts to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in building and developing Nghia Hung hamlet.
