Hang Dong commune preserves ethnic identity to develop tourism

Hang Dong commune, Bac Yen district currently has 10 households providing homestay and motel services, meeting the needs of tourists.

People here take advantage of the available beauty of nature and preserve the unique cultural features of the Mong ethnic people such as making panpipes and pao (cloth) balls, creating patterns on fabric of the Mong ethnic people, and making ‘day’ cakes and chili bamboo shoots, creating the attraction and unique characteristics of community-based tourism in Hang Dong.

In 2023, the commune welcomed more than 36,000 visitors, earning estimated revenue of about 5 billion VND (206,000 USD).
