10th badminton championship for Son La public employees, workers

On August 19, Son La province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with the provincial Labour Confederation, held the closing ceremony of the 10th badminton championship for local public employees and workers in 2023.

The tournament, held on August 17-19, attracted 148 athletes from 17 grassroots trade unions and two trade unions of central agencies located in the province. They competed in three events: men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles in three age groups of 18-35, 36-45 and 46-55.

According to the organisers, this year's tournament saw an increase in the number of athletes, and improved professional quality. This was an opportunity to tighten solidarity between units, promote patriotic emulation movements, and well perform political tasks in each agency and unit.

The organisers present first, second and third prizes to winners in the mixed doubles event, age group of 18-35.

After three days of competition with more than 120 matches, the tournament was a great success. The organisers awarded 10 sets of gold, silver and bronze medals to the winners in the competition events./.
