Hundreds run to conquer Pom Luong peak

Leaders of Muong La district and nearly 700 athletes from 32 units in and outside the locality ran to conquer Pom Luong peak on March 2.

The run was held in anticipation of the 75th founding anniversary of the district’s Party organisation (June 15, 1949-2024) and 45 years since the district’s centre was moved to It Ong town (1979 - 2024), and in response to the campaign "All people do physical exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho".

The runners started from Van Bu bridge to Pom Luong peak in Tham Hon hamlet, Ta Bu commune.

The organising committee arranged many relay stations, with water and fruit, and health workers, to ensure safety for the athletes and support them throughout the race. Throngs of locals also came to cheer for the runners.
