"Inter-family fire safety group" firefighting, rescue competition 2024 in Son La a great success.

The provincial People's Committee on May 29 organised a competition on firefighting and rescue skills among inter-family fire safety groups in Son La province.

Before the opening ceremony, more than 500 officers and soldiers of the police and military forces, youths and civil defence teams of agencies, businesses, schools, communes and wards of Son La city participated in a parade.

This year's competition drew the participation of 12 teams with 96 participants, who are the first prize winners of the district- and city-level contests. They underwent a theory part answering questions on knowledge about fire prevention and fighting and rescue and a practice part in fighting fires, rescuing people and moving assets for the type of housing combined with production and business.

After the two tests, the fire fighting and rescue police force of the provincial Department of Public Security demonstrated the deployment of fire fighting and rescue teams, and handling a hypothetical fire occurring at a house where family members are being trapped.

The teams brought exciting and dramatic performances to the contest, demonstrating their understanding and agility to provide quick and accurate answers. They were able to proficiently use equipment and deploy firefighting and emergency rescue effectively in the fastest time, thus ensuring safety for themselves and team members.

The organising board awarded the first prize to the Muong La district team, the second to the Van Ho district team, and the third to the Quynh Nhai district team. The Muong La district team will represent fire safety and prevention groups in the province to participate in the regional competition in Thai Nguyen province.
