Meeting celebrates 15th founding anniversary of Son La city

Son La city on October 26 held a meeting to celebrate its 15th founding anniversary (October 26, 2008 - 2023).

Son La city was set up on October 26, 2008. This was an important historical milestone during the 47 years of construction and development of Son La town. After 15 years, with the attention of the central and provincial authorities, the Party Committee, administration and people of all ethnic groups in Son La city have been united, dynamic and creative in performing its tasks, attaining many important achievements in all fields, deserving the political, economic, cultural and social center of the province.

Implementing the Conclusion of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee on developing Son La into a first-tier city with green, fast, and sustainable development, the city has coordinated with the provincial Department of Construction to complete the preparation, appraisal and submission for approval the adjusted master plan of Son La city until 2045. So far, four sub-area plans under the master plan have been approved. The rate of detailed and sub-area plans reaches 67.2%, while the urbanization rate is 68.63%.

Speaking at the event, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Lo Minh Hung praised Son La city for achievements made throughout its journey of construction and development. He asked the local Party Committee, authorities and people to continue to uphold the good traditions and valuable achievements, and cultivate solidarity and unity within the Party Organisation and the entire political system.

Son La city should promote its potential and advantages, overcome difficulties and limitations, take advantage of new breakthrough development opportunities, and focus on improving the quality of second-tier city criteria, for the green, fast and sustainable development towards the status of first-tier city.
