Provincial Border Guard Party Committee strengthens coordination with Party Committees of border districts

The provincial Border Guard Party Committee held a conference on October 24 to review the coordination regulations between it and the Party Committees of border districts for the 2016-2023 period.

In this period, the provincial Border Guard Party Committee and the Party Committees of Yen Chau, Song Ma, Sop Cop, Moc Chau, Mai Son and Van Ho districts have coordinated in leading and directing the serious implementation of  directives and resolutions of the Party, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defence, the provincial Party Committee,  People's Council and People's Committee, and the Party Committee and Command of the provincial Border Guard on the tasks of building, managing, and protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security; and building an all-people border guard and a strong border guard force at the local level. Attention has been also paid to carrying out professional plans, launching raids against all kinds of crimes, and establishing many specialised plans to effectively fight crimes such as smuggling, trade fraud, and especially drug trafficking.

The provincial Border Guard arrested and investigated 347 cases involving 421 individuals; handled 245 administrative violations with 340 individuals; transferred 21 cases with 28 suspects to other forces to handle. Over 53.9 kg of heroin; nearly 36.2 kg of synthetic drugs; close to 3.5 kg of meth, over 20.9 kg of opium, and 63.9 kg of poppy plants, and many other related objects were seized.

The parties have also worked together to effectively implement the Prime Minister’s Directive No. 01/CT-TTg dated January 9, 2015 on organising a movement of all people participating in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the new situation. Notably, 17 border communes with 72 groups and 4,582 households have taken part in self-managing 274 km of the borderline and 125 border markers; and 293 groups with 1,758 members have engaged in self-management of security and order in border hamlets.

In the coming time, the provincial Border Guard Party Committee and the district Party Committees will continue to thoroughly grasp and well implement directives and resolutions on the tasks of building and protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security, and building strong border areas. They will also continue to lead and direct coordination between competent agencies to keep a close watch on the situation and effectively carry out the national programme on fighting and preventing crimes.
