Provincial chairman inspects border and marker management

Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, and head of the provincial Border Steering Committee Hoang Quoc Khanh led a delegation to inspect border and marker management as well as maintenance of security and order in Sop Cop district.

The delegation visited the people of Keo Vai hamlet, Nam Lanh commune and on-duty officers and soldiers at Nam Lanh auxiliary border gate station; and held a working session with Nam Lanh, Muong Lan and Muong Leo border guard posts.

Over the past time, the territorial sovereignty, border security, political security, social order and safety in the district have been maintained. The borderlines, national markers and works on the border have been managed, protected and kept intact. The people have believed in the local Party committees and authorities, and worked hard for socio-economic development.

The border guard posts have cooperated well with the local authorities to strengthen popularization of the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies to the people; and strictly maintained the on-duty regime and enhanced border management and protection.

They have stayed ready to carry out plans for natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue; engaged in building the grassroots political system; and helped people in socio-economic development. They have also regularly exchanged the situation with the border management and protection force of Laos as well as well performed the management and protection of the border and markers.

The delegation presents gifts to border communes in Sop Cop district.

Speaking at the working session, Chairman Khanh asked the district and border guard posts to continue to perform well the foreign relations task; strengthen coordination with armed units, raise vigilance, and firmly grasp the internal and external situation.

They should join the local Party committees and authorities in doing well the mass mobilization work, taking care of the people's material and spiritual life, and helping the people in socio-economic and cultural development, he said.
