Provincial Literature and Arts Association convenes 8th congress

The provincial Literature and Arts Association has 13 branches with 271 members, operating in all fields of literature and arts. Over the past term, it has served a common home for writers and artists, and actively studied and created artworks, contributing to promoting political, socio-economic and cultural achievements, and enriching the literary and artistic treasures of Son La province in particular and the country in general.

The association has also stepped up training to raise the quality of artworks. Between 2019 and 2023, it organised nine literature and arts camps in various fields, and coordinated with districts and Son La city to open 14 others for 350 members.  At the same time, it has coordinated with agencies and departments in launching literature and arts creation campaigns, attracting a large number of members, joined efforts to organise Vietnamese Poetry Day every year, promoted outstanding artworks and artists, as well as literature and arts activities on the mass media.

During the past term, four of its members were honoured with the title of Meritorious Artist, and two others with the title of People’s Artist.  

In the new term, the association will continue with the communications work to raise its members’ awareness of the Party’s viewpoints on literature and arts in the new situation, develop a contingent of writers and artists with attention paid to both quantify and quality, especially young, ethnic minority writers and artists, and improve the quality of works. It will strive to fulfill the mission of building and developing culture and people, and promoting the literature and arts of Son La.

The congress voted to elect 15 members to the executive board of the provincial Literature and Arts Association for the 8th tenure (2023-2028), with Le Chuong re-elected as Chairman.

The Vietnam Union of Cultural and Arts Associations presents the Emulation Flag to the provincial Cultural and Arts Association.
