Quynh Nhai district’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee holds 21st congress

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quynh Nhai district organised its 21st Congress for the 2024-2029 tenure on June 4-5.

Over the past term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front committees at all levels in the district closely coordinated with the authorities and member organisations to well disseminate the Party's guidelines and policies, and State laws; consolidate, strengthen and promote the strength of great national unity. The people actively participated in patriotic campaigns and emulation movements; exerted every effort in learning and working, contributing to successfully fulfilling the socio-economic and cultural development goals and maintaining national defence and security in the district.

They coordinated in organising 384 voter meetings; 275 meetings with voters in their residences and meetings with voters to campaign for the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels; and 220 dialogues with residents.

Their people's inspection and community investment supervision boards held 201 meetings to supervise the quality and progress of works and projects using state capital and public donations. As many as 733 sessions were organised to disseminate guidelines, policies, and laws, attracting nearly 65,000 participants.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front committees at all levels in the district actively encouraged people to respond to the campaign "All people unite to build new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas", contributing materials and efforts to build new-style rural areas. They raised 22 billion VND (865,374 USD) for the "For the Poor" fund and nearly 2 billion VND to support more than 2,000 poor people on the occasion of the Lunar New Year; and provided housing support for 328 poor households. Residents were also encouraged to actively apply scientific and technical advances to production, develop cooperatives, and build One Commune Once Product (OCOP) products.

In the spirit of "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Development", in the 2024-2029 term, delegates actively discussed and commented on the direction, tasks, and action programme of the committee. Specific goals include 100% of residential areas effectively carrying out campaigns and emulation movements; building 2-3 typical models in implementing social security; raising money for the "For the Poor" fund; 100% of hamlets and villages well implementing their conventions and the Law on Implementation of Grassroots Democracy.

The congress selected 54 members to the district Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee for the 2024-2029 term; 13 official delegates and two alternate delegates to attend the 12th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La province for the 2024-2029 tenure.

On this occasion, the Chairperson of the district People's Committee awarded the certificates of merit to three collectives and five individuals. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quynh Nhai district presented the certificates of merit to seven collectives and 15 individuals with outstanding achievements in front work in the 2019-2024 period.
