Son La takes drastic, synchronous solutions for public investment disbursement

Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Hoang Quoc Khanh on September 26 chaired the 27th meeting of the provincial People's Committee (the 15th tenure 2021-2026) to evaluate the performance of socio-economic development, national defence and security tasks in the first nine months of the year and set key tasks in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Over the past nine months, the province's economy has maintained growth, the business investment environment continued to improve, trade promotion and connection for sale of agricultural products achieved important results, and people's lives improved.

Tourism activities continued to recover, with the Moc Chau National Tourist Area honored for the second time as "Asia's Leading Regional Natural Destination 2023". The total number of visitors to Son La reached 4.11 million, with revenue of over 4.3 trillion VND (156 million USD).

Budget revenue hit more than 2.4 trillion VND (98.2 million) while disbursement of public investment capital amounted to over 2.3 trillion VND (94.1 million USD).

Culture, education, health and social security were paid attention while security, defence, and foreign affairs were strengthened. Social order and safety were guaranteed.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Khanh requested departments, agencies, districts and Son La city take drastic actions in managing, directing, and organizing the synchronous and effective implementation of solutions to remove difficulties for and promote public investment disbursement.

It is necessary to develop sustainable production and promote investment attraction to boost growth in the last months of the year, he said, adding focus should be placed on completing the socio-economic development and public investment plans and State budget estimate for 2024.
