All communes in Son La have fiber optic broadband infrastructure

All communes and wards in Son La province have fiber optic broadband infrastructure, while over 51% of hamlets and sub-wards are covered by fixed broadband. The proportion of the local population with smartphones reaches over 70%.

The Vietnam Bank for Social Policies’ Moc Chau transaction office in Long Sap border commune runs smoothly thanks to the Internet.

These are the results of the implementation of a programme to provide public telecommunications services by 2025.

Carrying out the programme, Son La province has focused on prioritising investment in increasing broadband mobile coverage for hamlets, creating favourable conditions for businesses to pour capital into developing fixed broadband telecom infrastructure, 3G/4G/5G mobile broadband for remote communes, evaluating more than 130 antenna mast/BTS station locations, and 86 fiber optic cable lines of telecom enterprises.

Network coverage for extremely difficult hamlets will create a driving force for development, ensure social welfare and security and defence for mountainous and border areas.
