Provincial Youth Union visits, presents gifts to disadvantaged children
A delegation of the provincial Youth Union visited and presented gifts to children in difficult circumstances, and children from policy beneficiary families and those affected by storms and floods in Chieng Khuong commune, Song Ma district on September 16.
The leaders of the provincial Youth Union and the People's Committee of Song Ma district distribute gifts to students at the Chieng Khuong Primary School.
The delegation gave out 3,000 boxes of milk, 1,500 notebooks, 176 children's books, one set of drums, 100 Mid-Autumn Festival lanterns, 60 scholarships, and 92 gift packages to children and teenagers. The total value is 80 million VND (3,260 USD) funded by the provincial People's Council, the provincial Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, and various organizations and individuals.
This programme aimed to help children in challenging circumstances, remote areas, and border regions overcome difficulties and excel in their study.
The leaders from the provincial Youth Union and Song Ma district also visited and presented gifts to children from disadvantaged families in Chieng Khuong hamlet, Chieng Khuong commune.
The Organising Committee of the Son La Tourism Contests 2025 held a ceremony on December 26 to announce and present awards. The event was attended by representatives of provincial departments and agencies, as well as authors and groups whose works won prizes.

The provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment on December 24 organised a conference providing an overview of forest resources and orientations for sustainable forestry development in Son La; information on biosphere reserves in Vietnam and around the world. It also shared experience and procedures for establishing biosphere reserves in accordance with UNESCO criteria.
Nong Thon Ngay Nay (Countryside Today) Newspaper, DVL Ventures – Ha Vy and Friends jointly organised the “Muong E Highland Charity Market” programme in Muong E commune on December 23. Attending the event were leaders of Muong E commune, representatives of local schools, and a large number of local residents.
A highlight of Son La province’s economic landscape in 2025 are its achievements in attracting investment. During the year, the province approved 39 new investment project proposals with a total registered capital of over 22.1 trillion VND (839.3 million USD), marking a 12.7-fold increase compared to 2024. These projects have become a key driver of growth, significantly contributing to the restructuring of the provincial economy.
