Provincial Youth Union visits, presents gifts to disadvantaged children
A delegation of the provincial Youth Union visited and presented gifts to children in difficult circumstances, and children from policy beneficiary families and those affected by storms and floods in Chieng Khuong commune, Song Ma district on September 16.
The leaders of the provincial Youth Union and the People's Committee of Song Ma district distribute gifts to students at the Chieng Khuong Primary School.
The delegation gave out 3,000 boxes of milk, 1,500 notebooks, 176 children's books, one set of drums, 100 Mid-Autumn Festival lanterns, 60 scholarships, and 92 gift packages to children and teenagers. The total value is 80 million VND (3,260 USD) funded by the provincial People's Council, the provincial Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, and various organizations and individuals.
This programme aimed to help children in challenging circumstances, remote areas, and border regions overcome difficulties and excel in their study.
The leaders from the provincial Youth Union and Song Ma district also visited and presented gifts to children from disadvantaged families in Chieng Khuong hamlet, Chieng Khuong commune.
Hoang Van Nghiem, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, head of the provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, and head of Steering Committee 398 on reorganising and streamlining the apparatus of the provincial political system, on October 30 chaired a meeting of the committee to discuss the internal restructuring of administrative agencies, public service units, and state-owned enterprises in the province.
The Veterans Association of Son La province held talks and signed cooperation agreements with its counterparts from Laos’ Luang Namtha and Bokeo provinces on October 30.

The Farmers’ Union of Quynh Nhai commune has 3,460 members across 41 branches. Implementing preferential credit policies, the union currently guarantees loans for 735 households through the transaction office of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, with a total outstanding balance of over 39 billion VND (1.48 million USD).
The judging panel for the 2025 outstanding rural industrial products of Son La province on October 27 convened at the provincial centre for investment, trade and tourism promotion to evaluate the shortlisted products.
