Son La expands investment in developing healthcare network

Since the beginning of this year, Son La province has directed the continued implementation of a project on building and developing the grassroots healthcare network in the new situation, aiming to consolidate and improve the quality of health care activities at the grassroots level.

The province has carried out a project on investing in an inpatient building and upgrading medical equipment for the provincial General Hospital, while developing another to establish the Van Ho district General Hospital with a scale of 150 beds under the Socio-economic Recovery and Development Programme.

Currently, the whole province has 19 medical examination and treatment facilities; including eight provincial-level general and specialised hospitals, and 11 district-level general hospitals. By the end of 2024, it is estimated that the ratios of 8.85 doctors/10,000 people and 30.8 hospital beds/10,000 people will be achieved.

The health station of Nam Lau commune, Thuan Chau district, has been built spaciously.
