Son La holds training course on ethnic minority livelihood improvement project management

The provincial Health Department, in coordination with Save the Children International (SCI) in Vietnam, on August 22-24 organized a training course on the management of a project to improve the livelihoods of ethnic minorities in Son La province.

At the training course on the management of the project on improving the livelihoods of ethnic minority people in Son La province through agriculture and nutrition improvement.

The project targets local ethnic minorities’ better livelihoods through agriculture and nutrition improvement.

Attending the training course were 65 members of the provincial project management board and its chapters in Sop Cop and Bac Yen districts and the project implementation boards of Xim Vang, Chim Van and Lang Cheu communes of Bac Yen district; Sam Kha, Pung Banh and Muong Va in Sop Cop district.

The trainees were guided how to make plans and implement the project’s interventions; introduce the activities of the agriculture and nutrition component; regulations and processes on finance, equipment procurement, accounting documents; a code of conduct and policies on child safety and prevention of child sexual abuse and harassment; anti-human trafficking policy; and the role of project supervisors.

In addition, the lecturers also gave situations for the trainees to discuss for belter project implementation in the future.
