Construction begins on Chieng Den commune kindergarten

Son La city on March 19 held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new kindergarten in Chieng Den commune as part of activities celebrating the city’s inclusion in the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities.

In the 2023-2024 school year, the present kindergarten of the commune has admitted nearly 450 children, with its headquarters in Trung Tam hamlet and three facilities in Bom Phung, Phieng Nghe and Phieng Tam hamlets.

In Trung Tam, the kindergarten counts 292 children and 10 classrooms, five of which are located in a two-story building with the administrative room. Five other classrooms were converted from the communal medical station, which have failed to meet teaching and learning conditions.

Delegates break the ground for the construction of the Chieng Den commune kindergarten.

The above-said project was approved by the municipal People's Committee under Decision No. 2819/QD-UBND dated September 29, 2023, with a total investment of 20 billion VND (808,080 USD).

The kindergarten is designed to have two new two-storey buildings with 14 classrooms, a kitchen and other auxiliary items. The construction is scheduled to last 290 days.
