Construction starts on Martyrs' Memorial at Pha Din Pass cultural, historical site

A ceremony was held in Muong E commune, Thuan Chau district on December 28 to start work on the Martyrs' Memorial project at Pha Din Pass cultural and historical site and call for social sources for the construction.

Pha Din Pass was recognised as a national relic site under Decision No. 3087 dated October 27, 2020 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Concretising Decision No. 3087, the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee directed an overall review of the Pha Din Pass area in Son La territory and issued a policy to implement the site planning of Pha Din Pass cultural and historical relic site in Thuan Chau district.

Based on the results of the subdivision planning, Thuan Chau district has focused on directing the implementation of the master plannning of the memorial. The project has a total area of 15,300 sq.m, including land areas for religious activities, trees and roads, a parking lot and technical infrastructure. It includes a memorial house, a flag tower, a place to burn votive papers and auxiliary items such as a gate, a yard, handrails, and stone embankment. Capital for the project comes from social sources.

At the ceremony, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thuan Chau district called on agencies, units, businesses, organisations, individuals and sponsors inside and outside the province, and Thuan Chau people living and working inside and outside the district to contribute materials, funds, and historical documents and artifacts to the work.

The construction of the memorial aims to turn the relic site into a red address for educating revolutionary traditions for young generations.
