Final rehearsal for Dien Bien Phu Victory celebration organised

The final rehearsal for the national-level celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - 2024) took place at the Dien Bien Stadium in the northwestern mountainous province of Dien Bien on May 5 morning.

It was held by the central steering committee for the celebration of Vietnam’s major holidays and important historical events for 2023-2025.

The national-level celebration for the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory will take place on the morning of May 7 at the Dien Bien Stadium and be broadcast live on Vietnam Television’s channel 1 (VTV1). This is a specially important event, with great significance and value, arousing patriotism, the revolutionary spirit, and the will to fight and to win in the cause of national construction and defence.

The rehearsal programme featured a flag-hoisting ceremony, drum performances, artistic presentations, and the announcement of decisions on recipients of orders and commendations. Its highlight was a military parade involving over 12,000 participants.

The statues featuring soldiers pulling cannons are taken past the platform.

At the final rehearsal, the contents of the celebration were carried out in accordance with the approved script.
