Permanent members of the Party Committee, the People's Council, the People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La province , and representatives from the Ministry of National Defence and the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on May 6 laid a wreath at the monument of President Ho Chi Minh and northwestern residents, and offered incense at a temple dedicated to the late leader at the Tay Bac (Northwest) Square in Son La city.
The activities were held on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - 2024), and 65 years since President Ho Chi Minh and a central-level delegation visited and talked with northwestern residents in Son La (May 7, 1959).

Nguyen Minh Tien, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, on March 5 chaired a meeting on the investment and construction progress of primary-secondary boarding schools in border communes. Attending the event were Major General To Quang Hanh, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 2, and Cha A Cua, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and President of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
Amid the festive atmosphere of the 2026 enlistment day across Son La province, a military handover and enlistment ceremony was held at military handover and enlistment point No. 2 in Yen Chau commune on March 6. Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and head of the provincial Military Service Council, attended the event, and encouraged the new recruits as they set off for military service.

Authorities at all levels and sectors have coordinated closely to implement overseas labor programmes effectively.
Leveraging its favorable climate and soil conditions, Van Son ward has focused on restructuring its economy by encouraging and supporting enterprises, cooperatives, and farming households to integrate agricultural production with processing and experiential tourism. This approach is opening up a sustainable development path and increasing local incomes.
The Incense Offering Festival 2026 at the Hai Ba Trung Temple was held on February 28, or the 12th day of the first lunar month, in Thong Nhat hamlet, Chieng Khuong commune. Attending the event were leaders of several provincial departments and agencies, Hanoi’s Me Linh and Lien Minh communes, and several communes in Son La province, along with a large number of local residents and visitors.
The Party Committee of provincial Party Agencies on February 28 held the opening ceremony of a sports tournament celebrating the Party’s founding anniversary and Spring 2026, as well as the successful 14th National Party Congress.
