Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Lo Minh Hung presents gifts to poor households in Ca Nang.

Ca Nang has seven hamlets and 4,462 people. Over the past years, Ca Nang has stayed united in performing the tasks of economic development and maintaining security and order. The commune has maintained 610 hectares of food and upland crops, more than 3,000 buffalos and cows, over 800 pigs, over 20,000 heads of poultry, and 40 fish cages. Its poverty rate now stands at 11.1% and it satisfies12 out of the 19 criteria set for a new-style rural area.

Meanwhile, Chieng Khay has 11 hamlets and a population of over 7,600. Local residents show trust in the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws, actively develop economic models, and promote sustainable poverty reduction. The commune’s annual income per capita reaches 40 million VND (1,627 USD) and its poverty rate is 7.8%. It meets 11 out of the 19 criteria.

Hung asked Quynh Nhai to focus on supporting local residents, ensuring that they fully enjoy the Tet festival, and organising celebration activities safely.

The locality was also urged to continue with the implementation of socio-economic development and sustainable poverty reduction programmes, improve people's living standards, carry forward the tradition of solidarity, and encourage residents to comply with the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws.

The two communes should strive to complete the criteria for new-style rural areas within this year, he said.

On this occasion, the delegation presented 93 gifts to people who have rendered services to the nation, the elderly, and poor households in Ca Nang and Chieng Khay communes./.
