Provincial leaders inspect road construction   

Nguyen Huu Dong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and head of Son La province’s delegation of National Assembly deputies; Hoang Quoc Khanh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; and other officials on February 26 made a field trip to the construction site of a project upgrading the route linking National Highway 37 in Bac Yen district and National Highway 279 in Muong La district.

The 67.2km route runs through Phieng Ban, Chim Van and Pac Nga communes of Bac Yen district, and Chieng Hoa and Chieng San communes of Muong La district. It costs over 856.3 billion VND (34.7 million USD) invested by the provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Unit.

At the working session, the project management unit and leaders of Muong La and Bac Yen districts reported the project progress to the provincial leaders, saying 82.73% of the land needed for the project has been handed over to the construction unit, all of the seven reinforced concrete beam bridges across streams have been built, and 52,53km of the route have been completed.

Capital disbursement has reached over 656.8 billion VND so far. The route is expected to be completed within this year.

Provincial leaders inspect the construction of the route in Chieng Hoa commune, Muong La district.

In his remarks, Dong asked the provincial People’s Committee, departments, agencies and localities to speed up construction at the cleared sites as well as land handover. 

Muong La and Bac Yen districts were urged to push ahead with site clearance, and encourage local residents to give land to the project, thus ensuring the set progress.
