Provincial leaders pay tribute to General Vo Nguyen Giap, heroic martyrs

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - 2024), representatives of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La province on May 3 offered incense to commemorate General Vo Nguyen Giap and heroic martyrs at the Ban Nhot Forest historical relic site in Gia Phu commune, Phu Yen district.

They also offered incense and flowers to commemorate heroic martyrs at the Co Noi Junction historical relic site in Mai Son district.

The incense-offering ceremony was attended by Nguyen Huu Dong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and head of the province’s delegation of National Assembly deputies; and representatives from provincial departments and agencies as well as the Standing Boards of the Party Committees of Phu Yen and Mai Son districts.

At the Co Noi Junction historical relic site in Mai Son district, the delegates offered incense and flowers to martyrs and youth volunteers who sacrificed their lives for national independence and freedom.

Provincial leader offer incense to commemorate Vo Nguyen Giap at a temple dedicated to the General in Gia Phu commune, Phu Yen district. 

In Phu Yen, they expressed their respect, remembrance, and deep gratitude to General Vo Nguyen Giap, an eminent student of President Ho Chi Minh, and an outstanding commander of the Vietnam People's Army, who devoted his entire life to national independence and freedom, and the happiness of the people.

Provincial leaders hold a minute's silence to remember General Vo Nguyen Giap. 

The Party Committee, authorities and people of all ethnic groups in Son La province vow to study and follow the example of General Vo Nguyen Giap, forever follow the path chosen by the Party, Uncle Ho and the Vietnamese people, and carry forward the glorious revolutionary cause and the priceless legacy of previous generations./.
