Son La resolved to sail through challenges

In 2023, Son La province achieved remarkable results in various socio-economic sectors. Its political stability was maintained, national defence-security ensured, and people’s living standards improved. The locality’s position was further consolidated both regionally and nationally.

The region and the world are forecast to experience both opportunities and challenges this year. Natural disasters, diseases and climate change would continue to develop unpredictably. Although production and business are on track of recovery, problems still remain, notably rising material prices, low competitiveness and market volatility. All have significantly affected local socio-economic development.

To complete this year's growth scenario, all agencies, districts and Son La city will focus on elaborating the Government’s management spirit of "discipline-responsibility, proactiveness-timeliness, acceleration-creativity, effectiveness-sustainability.” They will closely follow the directions of the Government and provincial authorities, better the domestic environment, raise national competitiveness, keep a close watch on the situation, improve the quality of the forecasting work, and take timely, effective response.

Officials, public servants and labourers throughout the province are encouraged to raise the sense of responsibility, address pending issues, continue with innovation, and overcome all difficulties and challenges with high determination, great efforts, strong solutions, and drastic actions, striving to achieve the set objectives and tasks effectively.

More efforts will be made to accelerate the implementation of the programme on socio-economic development and recovery, national target programmes and public investment disbursement; and create breakthroughs in infrastructure development, and major projects.

At the same time, more attention will be paid to economic restructuring in line with growth model reform; promoting green economy, digital economy and circular economy; building and perfecting institutions and mechanisms for regional connectivity and coordination; diversifying the market and exports; and boosting the domestic market in tandem with fighting smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.

The province will focus on science-technology, education-training, startup, innovation, and the flexible and effective development of the labour market. Social welfare policies are expected to be put in place in a comprehensive, substantive and timely manner. The locality will work to raise the efficiency of law enforcement, step up administrative reform, and foster digital transformation, towards digital administration and digital society.

Son La will strive to maintain political stability, strengthen national defence and security, effectively carry out foreign relations activities and international integration, and reform and diversify communications measures, thus igniting the desire for development, the spirit of solidarity and mutual support, and raising consensus and confidence of people and businesses in the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws.

Under the Party leadership, all agencies, localities and ethnic groups in Son La will carry forward the tradition of patriotism and solidarity, overcome difficulties, optimise potential and strengths, and join hands to ensure the rapid, green and sustainable development of Son La province./.
