Attending the event were representatives of the provincial Party Committee's Information and Education Commission and the provincial Department of Information and Communications, leaders and reporters of central and local news agencies and newspapers based in the province.
At this year's festival, there are nearly 400 unique publications of books, newspapers, and magazines from central and provincial press agencies and the provincial Union of Literature and Arts Association, including spring issues of newspapers, magazines, journals, books and photo books giving the panorama of Son La press and the country's press on the occasion of the new year; and promoting the province’s socio-economic development, defence and security achievements in 2023.
The event helps promote and honour the development of Vietnam's revolutionary press as well as the province's press and literature and arts, while creating opportunities to encourage media workers, writers and artists to well perform their tasks so as to meet the people's needs for information and arts enjoyment.
At the festival, the provincial Journalists Association coordinated with the provincial Union of Literature and Arts Association to launch a movement to create journalistic, literary and artistic works for a contest celebrating the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army and 35 years of the All-people National Defence Festival (December 22, 1994 - December 22, 2024).
The organising committee presented all publications on display at the Spring Press Festival to the provincial Border Guard Command for delivery to border guard stations in the province, providing spiritual food for soldiers who guard the border on the occasion of Tet.
